Where to exercise ?

If you want to exercise during your stay in Brussels the easy way is the Stadium Kinetix sports club. With its 20,000 m² Stadium Kinetix Brussels is one of the largest sports clubs in Europe. Besides an expansive fitness room you will also find a multifunctional room, a large number of group classes and a 30 m swimming pool.

The Kinetix is at walking distance from the house, just across the park.

If you just want to jog, you can run around the Park Josaphat nearby. This is ideal for short training during the week. For longer runs, use tram 7 (or a bike) that will take you directly to the Bois de la Cambre. You will then get access to the Sonian Forest and its 5,000 ha.

Transportation

From the house, you will have many transportation possibilities. Indeed, stops at 100 m and 500 m can taken you directly almost anywhere in Brussels (click on the image to enlarge it) :

- Bus 64 direct to EU Institutions :

- Tram 62 direct to NATO :

- Tram 7 direct to the Flemish University and the Bois de La Cambre (famous park with access to the Soignes forest) and easy access to the French University :

- Bus 65 direct to central station and the Grand Place :

 

- Bikes are also available. City bike services are called Villo! You will find many stations in the area.

 



The restaurants

They are several small restaurants at walking distance. Here are the ones we have tried and liked most:

- 't Potverdoemmeke : Despite this very complicated name this small restaurant only 300m away is one of our favorite. It serves traditional Belgium food and I would definitely advise the carbonnade with French fries. In dessert, the Gaufre de Bruxelles 't Potverdoemmeke is a specialty I never refuse.

- Le Zinneke : The best restaurant for mussles in Brussels. Other dishes are on the menu but one of the 69 recipes of mussles will probably convince you.

- Bucca di Bacco : Italian restaurant. No pizza here but an excellent Italian traditional food in a nicely decorated room.

- Stella d'Italia :  Italian restaurant, ideal for a dinner with friends. Pizze are not expensive but tasty. Regularly full but you can also take away.

- Chez marraine : Burger restaurant that opened in 2017.

- Don Luis : Portugese restaurant with nice wines and tapas.


Other restaurants to try : Brasserie Broadway, Poseidon (Greek).

The appartment

The appartment of the 1st floor has been entirely renovated in 2016. It is fully furnished and has all possible comfort.

The entrance is furnished with a wardrobe.

The living room is cosy and decorated. It gives access to a small balcony, very pleasant on sunny days.

The kitchen is conceived with taste and equiped with a fridge, a freezer, hotplates, an oven and a dishwasher.

The bedroom is spacious and furnished with a double bed.

The bathroom has a new shower and modern furniture.

The Josaphat park

The Josaphat Park is only 200 m from the house and is ideal for a walk or a small jogging. Inaugurated in 1904, it is divided in several areas among which you will find a wonderful English landscape garden. It is also well-known for its collection of statuses and some events taking place mostly in spring and summer.

The room N°4

This room is located on the 4th floor. It is separated from the other rooms which makes it quiet and private. It is fully furnished with a bed, a bedside table, a wardrobe, a desk and a chair.

The room N°3

This room is located on the 2nd floor on the left front part of the house. It is furnished with a bed, a bedside table, a wardrobe, a folding table and a stool.

Price : 480 € all charges included (heating, electricity, water, internet, washing machine and cleaning of the shared rooms)

The room N°2

This room is located on the 2nd floor on the right front part of the house. It is fully furnished with a bed, a bedside table, a wardrobe, a desk and a chair. It is generally appreciated for its modern style.

Price : 510 € all charges included (heating, electricity, water, internet, washing machine and cleaning of the shared rooms)

The room N°1

This 13 m2 room is spacious and fully furnished. It is located on the 2nd floor. You will find a bed, a bedside table, a wardrobe, a desk and a chair.

The best bakeries

There is quite a list of bakeries are shops to buy bread and desserts around the house. Here is a selection.  

- Côté Gourmand : The shop opened in 2015 near the park. You can naturally buy breads and cakes but it is also a nice place to have your breakfast, especially in the summer. Unfortunately prices are slightly above average. Website Here

- Le Goût : Breads and excellent tarts. The shop is also near the park and is located 40 Avenue des Azalées. Website Here

- Van Dender : Best cakes. The main shop is located Place Dailly. Website Here

- Van Schoor : Baguette and viennoiserie are good. Quantities are often limited.

- Färm: This is actually a supermarket but it has its own bakery and breads and viennoiseries are made on site. The shop is located 383 Avenue Rogier. 

The shared appartment is ready

The appartment on the upper floors has been renovated in 2015. On the second floor, three confortable single rooms have been created and the bathroom has been equiped with a new shower and furniture. The shared rooms on the third floor have been completely refurnished and the new room on the fourth floor gives both confort and privacy.
